Likely see Beliveau or Quezada out of the pen tonight. Grife and Latham can both go if the Chiefs are leading late. Hopefully some offense breaking out tonight but a tough hurler in Beloit opening day starter Liam Hendriks.
Here is what I have on Whitenack and Hendriks.
Hendriks: RH Liam Hendriks takes the mound tonight for Beloit in his second start of the season. He threwfive shutout innings and allowed just one hit while striking out seven on Thursday in a no-decision at Cedar Rapids. Last season he joined Beloit on July 8 and went 3-5 with a 3.51 ERA in 11 MWL starts. In three Rookie Ball outings with Elizabethton he was 2-0 with a 3.71 ERA last season. The Perth, Australia native signed with the Twins in Feb 2007 and missed all of 2008 with a nerve injury in his right arm. The 21 year-old attended Sacred Heart College in Australia and pitched for Team Australia in the 2009 World Baseball Classic. He pitched twice, both against Mexico, and allowed two runs on three hits over 1 2/3 innings. The Chiefs beat Hendriks 7-2 at Pohlman Field on August 6, 2009 with four runs on eight hits over six innings. He allowed a home run to Junior Lake and the only current Chiefs player to face Hendriks is Jovan Rosa who was 0-for-3 in that contest.
